It's been a while since this website has been edited, and updates need to be made. Please contact me to learn how to make such updates... it's really quite simple and it can make marketing the project

We have been working hard on re-organizing the entire project to meet the needs of the current situation. We were under the impression that the community of Gashonyi needed an expansion on their existing clinic, but it seems that they need a completely new building on a new site. There are several tasks that now need to be finished in order to bring us up to speed and hopefully, we will have a successful design for a new clinic by the end of the semester.

Thanks for all the hard work and help, will see you soon.

Welcome to EWB UW Madison, Rwanda project blog! You can write in anything here whenever you think of something to contribute to the conversation.

On the agenda this semester, we need to fund raise enough money to do an assessment trip to Gashonyi in order to continue with the project. Several fundraising ideas have been started:
  • Chili's Give back night
  • Pizza Sale/Bake Sale
  • Za's percent profit
  • Sky miles and plane tickets
We have also begun research into contractors for building the clinic expansion, looking at building codes in the USA to emulate such standards in Rwanda, despite the lack of such codes in the country, and looking into the flow of clinics and hospitals as well as the diseases most prevalent in Gashonyi for suggestions to floor plans. More work is being done in sustainability and renewable resources, water quality, waste and sewage disposal, and staffing.

Blog is open to discussion, otherwise I'll keep posting updates! Thanks

-Piotr
